Devil Crab @ Carmine’s

A Devil Crab is another food item I have had countless times at several different establishments in Tampa.  Most of the time a Devil Crab is a snack or appetizer.  Well at Carmine’s it is essentially an entree.  When this thing shows up I immediately think of a mini football.

Split up open, pour on the hot sauce and get ready for true deliciousness.   The crunchy exterior and flavorful crab meat interior provide excellence in every bit.

If you want an authentic Ybor City Devil Crab this is it.  Pair with an ice cold Ybor Gold draft beer…maybe two.

This one earns 9.5 out of 10.

Maybe I should give this beast another try. I thought it was one of most disgusting concoctions I’d ever tasted when I tried it…and crab is one of my favorite foods on the planet.

Lol, Dean is very familiar with the Deviled Crab, me not so much. I found that I like them better cold a few hours later. Check it out and let us know!

Sweet Polly – When you tried it before was it at Carmine’s? I’ve been eating devil crabs in Tampa since I was a kid. I’ve had my share of bad crabs…ahem…bad devil crabs. There’s only a handful of places where I will eat them. If you don’t like the devil crab at Carmine’s then you probably won’t like them anywhere. Keep us posted.
