Rumba is Caribbean dining at it’s finest right here in Tampa Bay. The menu is filled with unique dishes with an island flair. Being a seafood junkie, Rumba has two of my favorites in the area. For starters the Seared Tuna “Nachos” light up your palette with a perfect combination of fresh flavor and spice. Each brown rice chip is layered with creamy guacamole, a healthy slice of succulent tuna, then topped off with a pickled jalapeño and served with a soy dipping sauce on the side. Ya Mon!
Next are the Soft Shell Crabs. You don’t find soft shell crabs on many local menus. These rank right up there with the soft shell crabs served in the local dives down in Key West. Most people are turned off by the sight of an entire crab on the plate. For me, the more crab carcasses the better. Lightly breaded and fried to an ideal crunch. Great all on it’s own, then elevated to the next level when combined with the Key Lime Aioli sauce. Add the Red Skinned Garlic Mashed potatoes and Jamaican Greens to complete a marvelous dinner.
